About the Project

EAP1216 The Djerba Libraries Project is project to digitize and preserve private and public libraries on the island of Djerba, Tunisia. The project includes mosque libraries and private family libraries holding collections of manuscripts and early Arabic print materials. From 2019-2021, the project is funded by Arcadia (a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin) and administered by the British Library’s Endangered Archives Programme (EAP).
